Just like Spark Realm and S.W.A.T., Spark Faces has now also been rolled over to PHP. You can expect Spark Faces to be updated and kept current on a much more consistent basis, now that it's a ton easier for me to do so. As always, send your new pictures, info, and websites to faces@spark-realm.net, and I'll add them as soon as I can!

We really appreciate your participation in the Spark Faces project! We now have about 140 members with over 230 pictures on the Faces page! However, we only have about 40 total listings on the Info and Websites pages. So remember to send your info to Spark Faces, so you can connect with other Sparkers like yourself! Also, send your websites in and we'll give you free web exposure, and if you want, you can even link back to us! You can copy and paste the code directly from the 'Link to Us' module over on the right!

As you may have noticed, many of the other Spark Community websites are getting a considerable makeover. This is so that they can all be recognized as belonging to a particular website group, without a bunch of different looks and feels to the separate websites.

I decided that Spark-Faces shouldn't be left out, so I ported it over to the new design. Hopefully with the new-fangled navigation bar up at the top, which includes all of the main Spark websites, nobody will get lost, and everyone will be able to find their way around all of the Spark websites easier and more smoothly. Enjoy!

Also, I've added a module in the left column that shows a Featured User. Whichever Sparkers have five pics or more, who also have their stuff on the Info and Websites pages, may be featured as a Featured User! This can last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on how many people fill out all of their stuff on the page. This can be some pretty good recognition to you as a Sparker, and may direct some extra traffic to your website as well! I've put myself in as the first one, so that nobody can complain about favoritism. Mostly it's just because I'm currently the only one with 5 pics, info, and a website! xP

I've taken a few hours and gutted the system and rewritten it with an image-expander JavaScript so that you never have to leave the Faces page when browsing through your friends' ugly mugs. ^^

This new JavaScript capability I've added is called HighSlide and is written by Torstein Hønsi. With it, you can open more than one picture at once, navigate back and forth through expanded pictures using the arrow keys, drag and rearrange, and compare and contrast pics. This is a much better and more fluid mechanic than was utilized previously, not to mention it's much sexier.

I've also added an index at the top so you can skip to certain letters right away if you don't want to scroll down for a long time. So, don't forget to send your info and websites to faces@spark-realm.net so we can get those pages going as well, guys!

So it would appear that the old pictures are being pushed out as new pictures are filtering in; so far we have a tad over 100 pictures of Sparkers around the globe.

As the Faces section continues to fill out, I'd also like to be able to start filling in the Info section. So if you have any info you'd like to share, such as your name, age, interests, state of residence, computer skills, etc., the Info section of the site could fill out rather nicely (and the 'other things' that used to be in the title of 'Spark-Faces and other things' might actually begin to come true.)

Eventually, this site could offer more than just a quick laugh at your friends' pictures, or a source of extra-curricular pleasure for those of you so inclined... I'd also like for it to eventually be sort of a 'quick stop' for contact info among Sparkers. If someone needs a database programmed for their new Spark league, they could look for someone with PHP or ASP.net skills under their belt. If you wanted to find out which Sparkers actually live near you, you could find their specific info here, and maybe host a LAN party for local players. Main point: Send in your basic info, skills, location, etc.

Remember, faces@spark-realm.net is where you send info!

Welcome to Spark Faces!

Welcome to Spark Faces! Myself and a lot of other Spark community members thought it would be pretty 1337 if a Spark-Faces (much like the old ARC Faces) was made. So I made one.

Right now it has a Faces section where you can post up pics, an Info section where you can post up information about yourself (as much or as little as you want), and a Websites section where you can post your personal website. If you want to submit your picture(s), info, or website(s) to Spark Faces, or if you have any questions or suggestions, mail them to faces@spark-realm.net. Enjoy!
